Learning How to Play Craps
In the world of gambling odds are everything. You have to be able to figure out quickly what games afford you the best rates because in the end this is going to dictate whether or not you win great returns or walk away empty handed. Sure if you walk up to two different games and see just a few percentage points in difference when it comes to the payout it may not seem like a lot. Who can really argue a 1% additional odd of winning? The fact though is that one simple percentage point can have a huge impact on your overall gambling and you have to be aware of this before you start gambling. With the game of craps, this is even more evident due to the sheer number of wagers that are available. Craps is a game that is easy to learn how to play and the intricacy comes when you start to work with the huge array of wagers involved with the game. If you are playing the game then you have to know the relatively different odds of each wager and which ones are going to serve you the best as you continue to wager. You have to be able to pick the most favorable wagers and how to discount the ones that are commonly known in the market as “sucker wagers.” These are the ones that contribute a lot to the casino but little to the gamer. New gamers are particularly prone to making these types of wagers and losing a lot of money as a result of their naiveté.
In the game of craps there are eleven different outcomes possible and the outcome means the total of the number of dice when you add them up. For example, the outcome of a winning roll is going to be a total roll of two, three or twelve. The eleven outcomes in the game can be reached any number of thirty-six different ways but two can be reached in only one way—If you roll snake eyes. So you can mathematically say that the odds of getting a two rolled is one out of 36, or approximately 0.028. You have to have some knowledge of the odds in wagering when you are working with craps because you want to know the true chances of winning a game based on the best wagers you can make.
